Does anybody else agree with the following statement? FOX only SEEMS to lean to the right because we are so used to getting ALL of our news from the far left that when we hear just straight news, without a liberal spin, we don't recognize it as being just straight news. If you ever watch FOX, they bash both sides, and if there's a conservative on the show it's ALWAYS balanced with a liberal. You're just not used to seeing democrats getting bashed from the media so you assume it's biased towards conservatives. If you bring up Bill O'Reilly....he is NOT a news caster, he is a political commentator just like Glenn Beck, William F. Buckley, Jr., Tucker Carlson , James Carville, Alan Colmes , Lou Dobbs, Maureen Dowd, Nancy Grace, Sean Hannity, Bob Herbert, Ezra Klein, William Kristol, Paul Krugman, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Frank Rich, William Safire, Joe Scarborough, Mark Steyn, and Gore Vidal.

Liberals are used to being spoon fed everything in life. Fox offers opposing views which is why I watch them.
And people shouldn't complain if fox news is biased when all of the other news channels are biased towards liberals.
I don't know how many times I hear a news story on TV in the other room casting a bad light on a Democrat and I'll say "that's got to be Fox News." And it always is. Always.

I find it funny that conservatives who always think someone is out to get them that the media is a Liberal media when the media is owned by conservatives. Rupert Murdock, GE etc.

I'm a Canadian, I live about 2-3 hours from the US border. I get FOX, MSNBC, CNN, CBS, ABC. etc. Pretty much most of it is absolutely garbage. FOX and MSNBC are the worst and are ridiculed in the journalism community. If you don't think FOX and MSNBC are very biased, then you're clearly delusional. Bill O'Reilly thinks Liberalism is social terrorism and Keith Olbermann believes that Conservatives are fascists. How can you really watch any of that garbage? It'll just make you stupid. Nothing but spin and propaganda from both sides.You'll largely be ignored by anyone with an IQ higher than 120 if you say you watch FOX or MSNBC. If you told a Canadian that you watched either of those networks, you'd be laughed at. Conservative and Liberal media in the US is a joke. CNN isn't so bad though. It's the only American news network that has won dozens of journalism awards. So it has some credibility. Personally, I prefer Reuters. It's an international news network based in the UK. Probably the closest thing you can come to being unbiased.

Your first delusion is believing that the corporate mainstream media is liberal. The media represents the interests of their corporate owners and their corporate advertisers, from whom they derive their revenues. For instance, representing the interests of the average credit card holders against those of their advertisers such as the big banks and credit card companies, is not going to happen. They are in no way liberal. Once you realize that, then you begin to understand just how far to the right Fox News is. Even without a thinking analysis, you should be able to easily recognize the slant in their newscasts and recognize their propagandistic efforts throughout the Bush presidency. Look and listen honestly and stop pretending.
most do not hear or listen to whole stories. the liberal mainstream media has watered down reports and miss lots of facts so the average person only hears their "spin". Fox does offer more opinions and deeper facts. I suggest take a little from all sides, add some independent sources and make up your own mind.
It's better to watch The Rick Mercer Report and This Hour Has 22 Minutes. They're fair and balanced.
You are totally correct. FOX does always have a conservative and a liberal for a nice healthy debate. It is not biased, the liberals would like you to think that :)
I do admit I can watch Shepard Smith but I really can only take a few minutes of fox, but I can only take a few minutes of the others. Have you really listened to that morning show on fox they talk like they are in jr high school and they talk to their audience like they are children. It is embarrassing to anyone who watches it.
I disagree. We could turn it around and say that the mainstream news media only seems to be liberal because it counters what we see and here from family, neighbors, schools, and churches. Seriously. Why would the liberal media hound President Clinton over Lewinsky and a BJ for weeks? Why would a liberal media report on Whitewater for weeks during the investigation, but when Clinton was exonerated, it scarcely made the news? Why would a liberal media repeatedly show soundbites of Reverend Wright? Why would a liberal media repeatedly show soundbites of Gov. Palin screaming about how Obama was a socialist who "palled" around with terrorists? Why would a liberal media never investigate would really happened on 9-11-01? I could go on and on.
Thats exactly what I have been saying. Anyone who doesnt thinks the majority of the media leans left shouldnt be listened to on politics. And yeah, O'Reilly does lean right. But you nailed it. He isnt on the News segments! People are just delusional.
You speak of Bill O'Reilly as if he were a human being, he is quite possibly the most ignorant, biased, pathetic excuse for a news caster of our generation. Fox News is completely biased as a right wing news station. There are many ex-employees of the news station who have clearly stated that they were forced to push a right wing point on stories or risk their jobs.
