However, look at this answer ( 'oops') and the person claims to be Sikh! : I am a Sikh and I hate it when people of my community try to get oversmart. ( If you mean Sikhs when you say Punjabis ) But instead of crying on yahoo answers why dont you hit back at them ? Ill give you some anmmunition. Attack 1 - You are not a Sikh , you are a pretender. If a person like you can claim to be a sikh, evey Muslim can claim to be a sikh ( this will really bug them )........ basis for attack 1 - Because almost every Sikh breaks his religious laws. Of the 5 K’s the Kesh ( hair and beard, eyebrows, body hair ) is shorn by a massive ( maybe 99 %, yes 99 % ) majority of the young Sikhs, weather they are in the UK or the fields of Punjab . Even the Sikhs who keep the hair will reject 3 other physical symbols. For convenience sake - without batting an eyelid. Ask a religious Sikh, - if you take so much trouble over maintaining your hair at the right length, do you keep ‘the Kacha’ ( large undergarment / drawers ) or do you wear a Calvein Klein brand of underwear. Do you keep ‘the Kanga’ ( comb ) of the right length or only a miniature Kanga – for convenience sake ? The ‘Kara’ is convenient so almost everyone ( including I ) wear it. Attack 2 - You are not a brave community ( this will bug them even more ) basis for attack 2 - – bravery is a title the White man gave Sikhs. The White man has colonized the whole world only by going to a native land, and identifying pockets of idiots in some areas of that native land whom he could use to fight for him. The Americans had their Muslim Idiots – The Afghans - against the Russians, The British had their Hindu idiots – the Gurkhas . The British identified Sikh Idiots – your great community of lions and assess, who were so happy with the title brave that they went to a country France, to fight for another country – England, against a 3rd country Germany. Sure – you fought the wars against Pakistan. But that is because Pakistan is at Punjabs doorstep and it came naturally to you to defend Punjab. If Pakistan was 1000 km away from Punjab, how many Sikhs would be in the army ? Attack 3 - You are all Khotas ( donkeys )(???????????????????) Basis for attack 3 - The problem here is that unlike Bengalis, Maharashtrians and South Indians, the majority of Punjabis ( Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims ) do not have hobbies. They cannot pass their time with arts, music, literature etc. For rich Punjabis at least – the main hobby is socializing, drinking, cards and gossiping within their group. Community matters become very important. This makes you talk like this Attack 4 - You are losers who have only one identity or achievment - Sikhism Basis for attack 4 - Sikhs who have very little achievements to their credit, try to attract attention to themselves and pump up their fragile egos by this display of religious identity ( again – only Kesh and Kara ) by saying – “look I am a true blue Sikh, I am better than you. Here it is worth noting that there is no mention of Sikhs in the question. I am a Hindu. However, mine friends are Sikhs too. However, here it is not a question of a particular community. I think such terminology should not be allowed on this Forum. What do you say? Therefore, it is that way. Now you are talking about Muslims. Can you tell me what this is to do with the question? You have some political agenda against Sikhs and Muslims and using these answers for propaganda purpose. That is your 'hidden' agenda. No problem to me. However, why to use slang? Sikh is short for sikhism, which is a religion. (Just like how Jew is short for Jewish) Anybody who does not follow that relgion cannot call themself a sikh because it simply is not true. What he assumed was that he was that the word sikh refered to the whole state of punjab, which again is not true. You'd have to be an idiot to believe that.That's like me calling myelf a Christian. Does that means that I live in Canada? I could go on and on about this guy, but it's all too clear what happened to this guy. He got his @ss whooped by some sikh and he resorted to go on the internet to vent out his feelings. Sad, but I'd bet money that it actually is true.
I fully agree with your view. Any question or answer which may hurt a community , their religion. their culture must be treated as abusive and liable to be deleted forthwith. yahoo community guide lines are very clear and for which abuse report is provided, Every member of the community has the right to report abuse when such abusive question /answers are identified. We should not allow this community to spread hatred or abuse against any religion, culture, or any ethnic community.
i thought the word was something really offensive! but donkeys? come on, worse has been said on yahoo and the yahoo watchdog has not done anything. it only takes a couple of fools to report an answer as abuse and it gets taken off. so do your duty and report abusive answers, even if they are offensive to a few but make a lot of sense to millions of others, just try saying anything against a particular minority and your answer is taken off, but people can say anything violent about hindus and christians and they can get away with it. makes you wonder. and "jew" is not short for "jewish", but a jew is someone who follows judaism and jewish means belonging to jews - jewish dress, jewish festivals, jewish language=hebrew, jewish food. sikh is someone who follows sikhism but they say punjabi food, punjabi music, punjabi dress and their language is punjabi and the writing script is gurmukhi. sikhism has evolved as a religion, originally it meant the army section of the punjabi society, when they were defending themselves from the moghul kings. a guerilla fighting force was created, which travelled light, with only minimal clothing to aid mobility and armed with only a dagger, lived away from villages so grew their hair and kept a comb for grooming, wore a silver bangle to identify each other. every family had to promise one son to serve in this army of brave and stoic defenders. till the 1980s, it was common to see one son at least become a sikh in a family of non-sikhs, it was more of a personal choice than the religious dictat it is today.
His attack one is because he himself is a pretender.... he's trying a lot to make every one believe he is a sikh when he actually is not... i had a discussion with him already and all i can say is he just claims to be a sikh coz of some illiusions when he actually is not. If he is a sikh every person can claim to be a sikh like he said...lol. About the bravery part i dont think a single community cud be termed as brave.. its something very personal... sikhs cant be called brave may be because we have ppl like oops who love to attack communities like cowards..... he very convineintly uses the word idiot with almost every community hindus , sikhs , muslims... i wonder wat he is.... The guy is messed, if u think about it our religion is Superior then hinduism since it was made afterwords with alot of alterations. That guy is jsut messed, the way he is talkin doesnt make him sound like a sikh and if he is then we is everything that he listed as his attacks because a true sikh would go to the gurudwara and learn new things and teach others new things. 'Oops' is not he, its 'she'.Though she has made her answers private, but I know her problem. In her early questions, she had discussed it twice. As she made it public herself, I think it is worth discussing now to understand her properly. Let me make clear, my sympathies are with her though I disagree with her. She is married to a siko. Now her husband is sexually offensive to her. I think here is no need of further details here though she was very expressive in her questions. I guess this should be a case of so called ‘love marriage’ and the guy is Sikh. In her above answer here, she has given a hint about that. Now, what I want to say that if she has some problem with her husband, it does not mean that every person of Sikh community is like her husband. Rather than expressing her frustrations here, she should face her life's problem.
Sikhism is a dharmic religion and thus a part of the same family of religions as Hinduism.....Sikhs are a type of Hindu...The only reason that they hate Hindus is because of 1984 but they don't even realise that 1984 was conducted by the congress party which itself is anti-Hindu

The ammunition you are supplying will strengthen only fundamentalist among Sikhs. They will use it as a proof of antagonism against Sikhs, which indeed is, in your case. You are very rude. Your attacks on 'A Learner' are just........... (I do not find proper words.) I think you should be ashamed of yourself. In India, No one talks to women this way. Your problem is that your ammunition lacks arguments and basic manners so you depend on slang. Being religious is different from being fundametalist.Learn to differentiate this. Hi, I usually don't leave the languages section, but I'd like to say that this person Oops is a faker and a pretender. He's not a Sikh , but someone who pretends and fakes to be a Sikh/Punjabi on each of his answers for the sole purpose of maligning Sikhism and directing racism towards Sikhs/Punjabis. Far from being a Sikh this person isn't even a religious or a spiritual person. :) I told him off in an answer and guess what? This troll came and answered a language question of mine with something totally off context. It was the abusive parody of Mool Mantar by Guru Nanak , he went something like : Ik bong kar , s.lut raam etc. etc. Can a person who is a Sikh or who is even spiritual of any kind, write something like that? Besides, no point in delving into his stupid answer. It's clearly devoid of logic and common sense and pretty racist. I guess he was describing himself and his friends in attack 3) , someone said it right when they said racists have very low intelligence, our troll oops is the perfect example here =)
