  1. 20 years does not make your cards old. The demand for trading cards has plummeted in the last ten years or so. I recently sold the majority of my baseball card collection (mainly 1952-1963) for $4k but book value was probably in the $20k range.
  2. my hubby collects sports cards, and i see a magazine called "beckett" on his desk. He gets them from the local bookstore or the trading card shop. he hangs out at a card shop after work and the owner can "ballpark" ( no pun intended) a cards value pretty well, also. check completed items on eBay to see what they sell for. He trades on www.sportscardforum.com as well. He's had very good results there. It has a feedback system like eBay.
