Putting up an arbor on an upper deck, does it count as a permanent structure for property taxes?
I know that any extended roof counts in my area, but will an arbor built up on my second floor deck (same size) affect my homeowner taxes?

- No it shouldn't affect your tax. Since it is classed as a temporary construction member and dosnt support load. But the only thing you have to watch out for is water penetration above the DPC of your structure. Arbors are asthetical additions and these will not in anyway increase the value of the home. I.e; conservatory (permanent) - increases value arbor (temporary) - stay static or may even decrease value sorry for not making this clear
- the county charges taxes based on the assessed value of the home. it doesn't matter if it is permanent or not. that is one of the reasons for building permits. to monitor improvements done to your home. if you pull a permit for the work then there is a chance that the property taxes could go up.
