Why does Beckett Baseball Price Guide cost so much?
I am starting to collection baseball cards once again. I was noticing that Beckett now costs $9.99 an issue. What gives? Why does a price guide need to cost so much? It didn't used to. In my opinion that is a bit steep for a magazine.

- People must be buying it because otherwise they wouldn't be selling it at that price. I'm sure you could get a subscription for a lot less per copy.
- It's much cheaper if you sign up for an online subscription. I think it's $36 for 6 months.
- You can get the on-line subscription which is much cheaper. Here are the different selections. http://beta.beckett.com/Sports-Cards/Baseball-Card-Price-Guide.aspx?utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=ppc&utm_campaign=Base_OPG
- Why does it cost that much? I would guess that it's very labor-intensive to keep updating the prices of so many cards. Also, consider that with each passing year, the guide is going to get larger as new cards are issued.
- But just think of how many fish you can wrap with it!
