Does anyone know the value of a Lou Ortiz, Phil. Phillies baseball card?
Louis Peter Ortiz- 2nd Baseman for the Phillies. Was with the Cardinals before that. Set the double play record in 1953. Batting average .298, in 1953 at Rochester. Have a Topps ball card numbered 114, would like some info please,no smartasses. Serious answers only! Can't find a date on the card. It only has the dates he played ball for the different teams. - You need the date off the card and then you can go to any sports memoribilia store and ask them to look it up, or go to a bookstore and look for a Baseball Card almanac which lists all the values. The value will vary depending on the condition of the card and the demand when you want to sell it (If the card is worth $15, but people are only willing to offer you $10, the card is worth $10, no matter what the book says). The year of the card would be the last year listed that he played plus 1. If it has all his stats through 1955, then it is a 1956 year card.
