Baseball Cards Price

Is there a good website for selling/finding out price for baseball cards?

I have some old baseball cards of my father's and was wondering if there is a good site to find out how much they are worth/ perhaps sell them?

  1. Ebay is a good place to find market value, but you need to look at completed auctions, not current ones. A lot of people wait until the last second to bid, so current auctions are not a good indicator of what the final price will be. You can find the prices for completed ebay auctions for cards like yours by following the instructions on this page: http://www.footballcardgallery.com/prices/ You can sell your cards on ebay, too, of course. Provide clear scans and detailed descriptions, and you should get fair market value for them.
  2. eBay is good, because you can see what other cards like yours sold for. But sometimes these cards are priced wrong. Good sites to check out are... www.topps.com www.bbonly.com www.cardpricer.com www.sportscardfun.com www.beckett.com Google's store is just like eBay, but I think it's better because it has more results.
  3. When pricing I like to analyze the ebay prices and trends. I don't use any third party sites; I just track the auction of my interest. Just make sure you make a distinction between graded and ungraded cards especially if your cards are vintage (before 1980). Graded copies can go for a lot more than a raw copy and thus can skew your numbers. Another one I know is http://prices.sportslizard.com/ One things is that almost any book price like those in Becketts is almost worthless. Almost no one item would sell close to book price especially in this market.
