Why does Beckett Baseball Price Guide cost so much? I am starting to collection baseball cards once again. I was noticing that Beckett now costs $9.99 an issue. What gives? Why does a price guide need to cost so much? It didn't used to. In my opinion that is a bit steep for a magazine.
Beckett baseball card price guide clarification help? Was just looking through a Beckett price guide and they list cards with two columns, a lower and higher value. Does anyone know what card conditions those correspond to? Is the higher value basically for NM condition card for example? Thanks....
How do you use the "multiplier" section in the Baseball Guide? In the Baseball Price Guide SP (Short Print) on the card, you are to use the mulitiplier area. And how do you uses it to find the value of a card. A card; when that Player shows a "SP" next to its Name? I still need to understand how to figure out "Mulitipliers" X 0.5- X 3 of the base card price.. Because when I use the multiplier some of the Base Cards end up as a VALUE MORE then the SP (short Print) cards. It doesn't make since. Please I KNOW there or MANY BASEball lovers out there, that must be able to help me!

Price guide for a baseball, anyone? I have a David Ortiz autographed ball that I really don't need, it is unauthenticated but by comparing to authentic signatures it looks the exact same (he signed it back when he was on the Twins if that helps). I cant find one online so I would really like some help.
Baseball Card Price Guides? I use to collect baseball cards as a child and picked up a Beckett price guide to see how much some of these cards are worth. I noticed that the value in the price guide is significantly more valuable than what you can actually get for them say on eBay. For example, a $100 price card in Beckett may only get you $20 on ebay. Shouldnt the price guide make adjustments to reflect the market.
Good free baseball card pricing guide? I have two baseball cards that have no marks on them except for the names of the players and "made in the USA" on the bottom right hand corner. They are both in black and white. They also have no stats or anything on the back, but are made of cardboard. One is of Whitey Ford and the other is of Gil Hodges. I've tried to find the selling price of them, but so far every site wants me to buy a membership to see the different prices on hundreds of cards. I really need help with this, because I'm not going to let them go without finding the real value
what year price guide from beckett for value of 1970s football and baseball cards. i have 100s of them.? I was informed to get a price guide from becketts. I went online to purchase one and now realize that there may be a specific one i need for the vintage cards that i have. I thought about getting the online price guide but wasn't too sure about that. I think i need a book to have in front of me because i have 100s of them to actually go through. None of them are graded and i already understand that would be a plus. This is my first attempt and think a price guide would be a good start. I think some of them have a decent value. I didn't want to be complicated and i thought it would be simple to go online and buy a price guide, but was uncertain if a 2007 guide is the one that i need to get the information for the 1970s cards. They are mixed with football and baseball. Hope someone can fill me in as the right thing to do. Thanks
Can some one help me find out the price for a baseball card? It is a 1988 Carl William Mays, part of the Conlon Collection (Baseball Immortals). It was left in a car given to us and the previous owner told us anything that was left in the car was ours if we wanted it. Im not sure where to look online to find information about this card, so any sites your could give me that would have the price guide for this card would be truly appreciated.
A single mom of 8yr boy desperately needs help on understanding baseball card pricing guides. Please help? I have organized the cards he picked up at a flea market by using baseball collection explorer. I have also printed a price guide from tuff stuff website. I know the cards are worthless he gave .50 for bundles of 100 and he got 3 packs of these. But I am trying my best to do this with him. On the software it has a column for the "set". Is this his personal number or were the cards made in sets. I have no clue of how to help him.
Is there a price guide available for autographed baseballs? My dad started collecting all of the members of the 500 HR Club and past away a few years ago. I am looking to pick up where he left off and need to know the current value of the signatures he already has and figure out what the missing balls will cost. Is there any type of price guide available that has these values listed? I can find all types of info for baseball cards but not really anything for just the autographed balls. Does anyone know what I should look for and where I may be able to buy one? Thanks!

Any good, accurate, and free online price guide for comic books? Have the stereotypical garage full of old comic books at my in laws house, and was hoping to get an idea on value for some of it. Not exactly in perfect CGC condition, I'm just curious what some of these older or random titles may pull at auction. Runs the spectrum: DC, Marvel, Star Trek, Archie, etc. Key word: free - like an old school Beckett for baseball cards.
How do I price thousands of trading cards quickly? I have a huge box of thousands of baseball and football cards. There are too many cards to flip through a price guide to find each individual card's price. Is there a quicker way to find the value of the cards?
How and where should baseball cards be sold? My dad recently bought a baseball collection from an estate sale. The stuff had never been sorted through, and after doing so, we found some amazing stuff (signed baseballs, augtograhed posters cards, sheets of uncirculated cards). He asked me to try and help sell some of it for him, but the sheer volume that we have is making it ridiculously hard (we had to rent a storage unit to hold his stuff!). I know a lot of things that we have aren't necessarily valuable. There are cards that we have a thousand of that may not be worth the box that they are in. I did a little research and found a pricing guide at beckett. But unless someone is looking for the card, it's not necessarily as valuable as they say it might be. Other than ebay/yahoo auctions, is there a place to list the cards/other items we have to sell? Is it better to sell it to a store rather than list each of the cards separately? Or, if selling online, should I try to keep these in sets?
Is there a baseball card collector in the house? I am a single mother of an 8 yr old boy. He has recently took interest in collecting baseball cards. I have no clue on how to help him. I how downloaded "collection explorer" and a price guide from tuff stuff website. He bought 300 cards and I have organized them using the software. There is one column that is labeled "set." His this for his reference or were the cards made in sets? If so how do I know what set it is? Could someone please help me to get started on this journey? He has became an ebay junky trying to buy more. I know he is buying worthless items, but it is what he wants. I'm not going to stop him as longs as he doesn't ask for a lot of money. I would love to hear any suggestions you may have.
Would it be worth my while to sell my baseball card collection? I have not yet decided whether this is a good idea, so maybe some further information might help. I have a fairly large baseball card collection, most of which was acquired during the 1980s and '90s. The bulk of it is Griffey, Frank Thomas, Chipper Jones and whomever else were the stars of the day. There are some older cards, as well as some newer inserts and autographs. According to the price guides, my collection is worth several thousand dollars. Could I expect to actually sell the collection for that amount? And if so, what would be the best, easiest and most lucrative means?
Does Beckett no longer make their monthly sports card price guides? Back when I collected, there was a Beckett baseball, football, and basketball card monthly magazine. Now Im interested in researching the value of my collection and and cant find the magazines anywhere. Are they no longer in business or do they only make annual price gudes now? Thanks----
