What is the best outlet to find the value of baseball cards? A friend of mine recently came across a box of older (1980's and on) baseball and other sports/trading cards. Most are well known brands (Topps, etc.) and almost all are sealed packages. Other than searching through ebay for each individual pack/card/set, or trusting a local memorabilia dealer, is there an efficient way to find out if these cards are worth any value? Or would it be better to open the packs and search for uncommon cards?

Baseball cards number on the back?? experts on trading cards ok, so im looking through an old folder and i find a whole bunch a baseball cards, none that look real valuable though. but anyways, i am looking through ebay to see what cards i can find, and most of the people put the card number and out of how many were printed. (ex.50/150) so im looking at the cards i found, and there is a number on the back, so im guessing thats the card number, but how do i know out of how many are printed?? it only shows one number. (for example, there is a ken griffey jr. topps gallery 1996 card with the number 146 on the top left corner..........but how many of these were printed??) im guessing the fewer that were printed, the higher the value right? well, i would really appreciate it if any one new the answer to these Q's, thanks a lot! well, the cards dont look valuable because the card number on all of them is pretty high, which leads me to believe that probably lots of them were printed, but no, there is only one number on the back, thats the card number, but it doesnt say how many were printed...........
How much is the entire set of Mother's Cookies baseball cards worth? I have Mother's Cookies promotional baseball trading card sets from 1987, 1988, 1989 and 1990. In my set is every single card, including many duplicates. Also, there are uncut promotional card sheets that have 8 trading cards of the same player on every sheet. I have several sheets with Nolan Ryan, Mike Piazza and Tim Salmon. Some of these sheets are in thick plastic frames and read R.O.Y PROMO SHEET on the back. I don't think that these sheets were for available to the general public so they are probably very rare. Everything is in mint condition and the 1990 sets are sealed in plastic. Can someone please offer me their professional opinion on the value of my collection? I would appreciate any advice - thank you!

Trading baseball, football, and basketball cards? I am trying to find a website where I can find people like myself who want to trade(swap) common cards. My problem is that I have many cards from the early 1990's, but have no complete sets. I know it is more valueable to have complete sets. But often I have 3, 4, or 5 of the same card and missing other cards to complete the set. I am hoping that there is a website out there where people can list the cards that they are willing to trade(such as my "extra" cards), and list the cards they want. I dont want to have to go to a store to buy the cards to complete my sets. I dont want to go to a store to trade either, as they will not give me fair value for my cards. Been there and done that. And please do not tell me to go to EBay... because Im sure I will get 100 answers that says "go to EBay." Obvioulsy I have tried searching with yahoo and google also, and can not find such a website that has what I am looking for... which is why I am trying this.

BASEBALL CARDS - Values for Several Sets...? I'm not an Ebay'er and the local book store doesn't carry Becketts and I would like to find the "ballpark" value for each of the following complete sets. My son bought the boxes and immediatly placed them in binders. He's now in college and needs some extra $$ and wants me to sell them in our upcoming yard sale. I'm looking for separate sets values as well as your suggestions for a "One Price Takes All". 86-90 TOPPS TRADED 1986 TOPPS 1987 TOPPS 1988 TOPPS 1988 FLEER 1989 TOPPS 1990 TOPPS 1991 FLEER 1992 UPPER DECK 1993 TOPPS (Series II) 1994 TOPPS 1995 TOPPS (Seies I) 1995 FLEER 1996 TOPPS 1997 MANTLE "Shoebox"
Base ball trading cards? I have a ton of really old baseball cards. Where can I find out the real value of them? Is there a new book I can buy that would have all the baseball cards listed? Where is the best place to sell them?
A mountain of 60's baseball cards - evaluation? Pricing? Hi. I'm hoping someone will make my day saying that I have the possibility of having a gold mine on my hands. My dad collected sports cards religiously in the 60s. I have one of many shoeboxes of cards he owned. I estimate there to be about 400 in this box. Here's the thing - I know nothing about them, really. The best I've got as far as trading card knowledge is an extensive history with Pokémon cards. Yeah, pretty sad. I was wondering how I could value all of them? They're honestly from tons and tons of different sets - probably 65% topps. I'm afraid that a standard value book will not cover them all. I'm just very interested in the values. They're pretty much untouched since about 1974, so they're all in about the condition he first got them. Except for a few that he'd obviously traded for. But still, they don't look 35-40 years old by a long shot. Any ideas to get me started? I'm a broke high school student so I can't really afford professional evaluation. Free sites? Guides?
Where Besides E-Bay Can I Sell My Trading Cards? I Have Tons Of High End Cards, Football, Basketball, Baseball, That I Would Like To Sell At Beckett Or Book Value. Anyone know anything about baseball cards??? I recently purchased several cards that I know nothing about; they are dated 1985. The cards are "pop-up figures", approx. 5 inches in length, made by Leaf-Donruss. I'd appreciate any info as to the value of the cards and how I might go about selling/trading them if, in fact, they do have any value. Thanks
Does anyone know the Actual value of this baseball card? 1982 Topps Traded #98T Cal Ripken JR RC Orioles BVG 9 Its graded by beckett
how much this baseball card worth? 1982 Topps Cal Ripken Jr. Topps Rookie Card Cal Ripken is arguably one of the greatest players to ever play the game. "The Iron Man" got his nickname and solidified his place in baseball history by playing in 2,632 consecutive games, surpassing the "unbreakable" record set by the legendary Lou Gehrig by an incredible 501 games. Ripken was a Rookie of the Year, 2x AL MVP, 19x All-Star, 8x Silver Slugger, 2x Gold Glove Winner, and in 2007 was inducted into Cooperstown as a first ballot Hall of Famer This 1982 Topps Rookie is the real deal and a super valuable trading card that continues to appreciate in value!
How is the sports cards market these days? I inherited about 10,000 cards...? Complete sets of cards from the early 90's, baseball, football, hockey. Also have large sets of trading cards from the Terminator 2 movie, G.I. Joe cards, Garbage Pail Kids, etc. Most of the them are from 91'-94' and many appear to be complete sets (500-700 cards per set). I've never collected cards of any kind before. Can these be of any value? Would it be worth my time to have them appraised? Anything I should know that I'm NOT asking? Thank you!
How is the sports card trading business doing in these current conditions? I only need answers from people who know please. I'm not talking about looking into a magazine or getting cards appraised. What i am asking is how the actual "business" or the need for cards are these days. Do you just put a card up for sale that you have valued from a book and wait to see if there is someone interested? And also, is there an equal interest in different catagory of sports cards? As in football, baseball, basketball. thanks, and again, would only the people who know the facts answer please?
to: all trading card fans ;? I recently came into some old trading cards(10, 15, 20 yrs at the most) I know some of them have good face value( football, baseball, basketball) will someone get at me?
Trying to find the name of a kind of "trading card screw-together toploader."? So quite awhile back at a card shop I saw a kind of toploader card sleeve that screwed together. I believe it was advertised for sports cards as I saw it near the baseball card section. I didnt pay any mind to it or even look at the name and now I regret it since several months ago that shop went out of business. Since then I've started collecting Magic: The Gathering and I'm in love with the "From the Vault" sets. As much as I'd like to keep them boxed up to preserve the value, I'd really like to put them out on display, but I want something a little bit sturdier than just a toploader to keep them as near mint as I can. If anybody can tell me what these "screw together" toploaders are or if anyone knows what im talking about at all it'd really mean alot. Thanks in advance

Could I make enough money for a 360 by trading in these games? I REALLY want an XBOX 360, and I only have about $40 right now. So could I get enough money for a 360 (I'm looking at a MICROSOFT refurbished XBOX 360 PRO from Gamestop for $200) by trading in these games? WII: Call of Duty 3 Medal of Honor Heroes 2 MLB 2K8 Red Steel Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent Gamecube: Super Mario Sunshine Madden 2005 MVP Baseball 2005 Starfox Adventures Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Wrestlemania XIX Wrestlemania X8 WWE Day of Reckoning Simpsons Hit and Run StarFox Assault And I am trading in a perfect condition Nintendo Gamecube console with all of the chords, one Nintendo-made controller, one Nitnendo-made 1019 block memory card So is this a good deal? I am thinking I would get around $120 for this. I know Gamestop is kind of a rip-off, but with their Wii trade in special (Trade in 4 Wii games, get an extra $20), plus getting an extra 10% trade in value and 10% discount if I get the money on an Edge Card, it should be some good money. Does Gamestop even take Gamecube games anymore though? NOTE: I already have all of these games on Craigslist. All I get are emails advertising websites, or someone trying to scam me. Craigslist isnt good. And also, selling on Ebay costs for shipping, as well as having to pay to put something on Ebay. Plus, I wouldnt mind getting $130 out of this deal. I could get $70 more, and then get a Microsoft refurbished Pro.
Which of the following 2007 Baseball Hobby Boxes should I ask for, for Christmas? I want a hobby box for christmas that I can use the commons as trade bait and hopefully pull some nice high book value cards for myself... 2007 Topps Hobby 2007 Topps Heritage Hobby 2007 Allen and Ginter Hobby 2007 Upper Deck Hobby Which one should I get and why? What should I expect to get from most these boxes? I picked these because I know people that collect these sets so i can use the commons as trade bait like i said earlier... HELP
Some Gamestop questions regarding trade-ins + Edge Card? I am planning on trading in 8 Gamecube games, 5 Wii games, A Nintendo Gamecube console (With chords, one controller, 1019 block memory card), and a Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP. How much do you think I would get for those (They are also having a trade in deal where if I turn in 4 Wii games, I get an extra $20, so that adds some good cash to that). So how much should I get? Also, does Gamestop even take Gamecube games and the console anymore? Question number 2, can I trust a Microsoft refurbished XBOX 360? Can I trust an XBOX 360 Arcade? I believe both of those still come with Microsoft warranties anyways. Now, I plan on getting the trade in money on an Edge card (Edge Card adds 10% trade in value, plus gives 10% discounts). But if I buy an XBOX 360 with half cash, and the other half of the money on an Edge card, do I still get the full 10% discount? Thankyou for your time, and here is a list of the games I am selling... -Call of Duty 3 (Wii) -Metroid Prime 3 (Wii) -Medal of Honor Heroes 2 (Wii) -MLB 2K8 (Wii) -Red Steel (Wii) -Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent (Wii) -The Simpsons Game (Wii) -Madden 2005 (GC) -MVP Baseball 2005 (GC) -Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (GC) -Wrestlemania XIX (GC) -Wrestlemania X8 (GC) -WWE Day of Reckoning (GC) -Simpsons Hit and Run (GC) -MLB 2K6 (GC) All I'm hoping for is at around $100 for this, which I should get by trading all of these in. ANd also, I want an XBOX ASAP. I could sell on Ebay, but that requires waiting a week for bidding, taking care of shipping, and making sure all of the payments worked okay. It's annoying. I think I might just get a new Arcade, because my friend offered to give me his 2GB Memory Card (Which is all I need to start off), and does Gamestop still sell warranties? Because I also want to buy a one year warranty because of the XBOX 360's high failure rate.
What is hard for people to understand when it comes to the Federal Reserve? Here is an analogy. If a million Mickey Mantle baseball cards were created by Topps. The cards would be worth nothing and no one would be able to trade the cards for expensive items as what is usually done with valuable sports cards. The FED does this when it increases the supply of money. It prints money that is backed by nothing and as a result the value of a dollar drops as prices go up. Given that banks and defense contractors are the first to get the money the average person see's no increase in salary but only see's that they can't afford anything. Gold on the other hand is limited in supply and because it cannot be artificially created( Yes, a person can paint things gold but it isn't real) Federal government can never have out of control spending. This is why defense contractors do not want the FED to go away. The FED is a failure. We have out of control spending, deficits, high gas prices, and high health care prices. We didn't have these problems with the Gold standard. Edward, it was NOT settled. Why do we have these economic problems if it is settled? Thomas D, why would it be late to go back to the gold standard?
