Beckett Baseball Card Price Guide Knowledge Base

Beckett baseball card price guide clarification help? Was just looking through a Beckett price guide and they list cards with two columns, a lower and higher value. Does anyone know what card conditions those correspond to? Is the higher value basically for NM condition card for example? Thanks....
Why is Score brand baseball cards not listed in the Beckett baseball card price guide? I have tons of Score baseball cards but I do not see them listed. I also have Pinnacle cards and think those two might have combined but Pinnacle is not listed either. Does anyone know why?
Why does Beckett Baseball Price Guide cost so much? I am starting to collection baseball cards once again. I was noticing that Beckett now costs $9.99 an issue. What gives? Why does a price guide need to cost so much? It didn't used to. In my opinion that is a bit steep for a magazine.

Beckett 2009 Baseball Card Price Guide Question!???!? There are 2 columns in the price guide that are based on a baseball card's "grade". For instance: Geroge Brett 1975 Topps $80 $40 What the heck does that mean? What grade are they referring to for the first column, and what grade do they mean in the second column? Thanks!
in the beckett price guides is mass market paperback different-10 points? I am thinking about buying a 2010 beckett baseball card price guide off amazon for 8.99 (Mass Market Version) the regular sized paperback is more expensive (about 29.99) but it has more pages (Mass Market has 672 and regular has 800) can anyone tell me the difference between the two.
2009 BECKETT Baseball Cards Price Guide....?....? This may sound a little strange, but I cannot find in this book what the 2 price columns stand for!? Is the first column for Mint? Near Mint? EX? And what is the second price column for...VG???? Please help me figure this out because I have an interest in collecting cards. Thanks!!!?!
Baseball Card Price Guides? I use to collect baseball cards as a child and picked up a Beckett price guide to see how much some of these cards are worth. I noticed that the value in the price guide is significantly more valuable than what you can actually get for them say on eBay. For example, a $100 price card in Beckett may only get you $20 on ebay. Shouldnt the price guide make adjustments to reflect the market.
Does anyone know of a online baseball card price guide? I know of Beckett.com but i was wondering if anyone kknew of a different website. I am looking for a free website, and i just want to find out the prices of my 2003 upper deck yankees signature series cards.
what year price guide from beckett for value of 1970s football and baseball cards. i have 100s of them.? I was informed to get a price guide from becketts. I went online to purchase one and now realize that there may be a specific one i need for the vintage cards that i have. I thought about getting the online price guide but wasn't too sure about that. I think i need a book to have in front of me because i have 100s of them to actually go through. None of them are graded and i already understand that would be a plus. This is my first attempt and think a price guide would be a good start. I think some of them have a decent value. I didn't want to be complicated and i thought it would be simple to go online and buy a price guide, but was uncertain if a 2007 guide is the one that i need to get the information for the 1970s cards. They are mixed with football and baseball. Hope someone can fill me in as the right thing to do. Thanks
Does Beckett no longer make their monthly sports card price guides? Back when I collected, there was a Beckett baseball, football, and basketball card monthly magazine. Now Im interested in researching the value of my collection and and cant find the magazines anywhere. Are they no longer in business or do they only make annual price gudes now? Thanks----

If one sells a collection of baseball cards, are they usually purchased at Beckett value? I have a large baseball card collection easily priced out by Becketts Price Guide at over $5000 dollars. Is that what I can expect to make if I sell them? Where do I sell them and how do I know whats fair price if not what Beckett says theyre worth? Should I grade any worth over $50 to increase the credibility of my collection?

Are there any 100% free price guides for baseball, basketball, football, and racing cards? I have a small collection of trading cards, and I was wondering if there are any 100% free online price guides. I've tried beckett.com, but they ask for a credit card, which I don't have.
what makes a baseball card valuable? i have recently inherited a ton of baseball cards. i am interested in trying to sell them to make a little money. i was looking at trying to sell them on ebay, but i have no idea how to organize and price them based on their value. How do i tell if they are more valuable then the others, and what price should i ask for them? i have tried looking at beckett and tuffstuff for online price guides but that confused me?? help please!
How and where should baseball cards be sold? My dad recently bought a baseball collection from an estate sale. The stuff had never been sorted through, and after doing so, we found some amazing stuff (signed baseballs, augtograhed posters cards, sheets of uncirculated cards). He asked me to try and help sell some of it for him, but the sheer volume that we have is making it ridiculously hard (we had to rent a storage unit to hold his stuff!). I know a lot of things that we have aren't necessarily valuable. There are cards that we have a thousand of that may not be worth the box that they are in. I did a little research and found a pricing guide at beckett. But unless someone is looking for the card, it's not necessarily as valuable as they say it might be. Other than ebay/yahoo auctions, is there a place to list the cards/other items we have to sell? Is it better to sell it to a store rather than list each of the cards separately? Or, if selling online, should I try to keep these in sets?
I have a lot of old football and baseball cards some with autographs and I dont want to pay for the...? Beckett price guide, is there somewhere online I can look up the value of the cards (also they are authentic[with certificate of proof]) Thanks to all who answer I very much appreciate it
Any good, accurate, and free online price guide for comic books? Have the stereotypical garage full of old comic books at my in laws house, and was hoping to get an idea on value for some of it. Not exactly in perfect CGC condition, I'm just curious what some of these older or random titles may pull at auction. Runs the spectrum: DC, Marvel, Star Trek, Archie, etc. Key word: free - like an old school Beckett for baseball cards.
Baseball Card Pricing? I havn't been able to find a beckett that has alot of information. The most recent has a few years before 2000 and even so are lacking in what I need. I have a TON of cards and while most of them are not worth much I do have some autographs, 9 Willie Mays cards, some swatches, and some Allen and Ginter cards. Can anyone tell me if there is a better price guide out there and where can I go to get more indepth info.
Value of Baseball Card? I have a 1966 World Series Game #3 L.A. vs. Balt. baseball card and I was wondering if anyone knew what it was worth or knew where I could find out what it was worth. The front of the card says "Blair's Homer Defeats L.A." I tried TuffStuff.com and couldn't find it, and Beckett.com charges money for a price guide.Does anyone know how I can find the value of the card for free?

Any baseball card collectors care to answer? I've been out of the whole baseball card thing for many years now, but was cleaning out my closet today and came across all of them. Obviously, I never got rid of any of them. Are there any free sites with a fairly accurate price guide? I've done my research on it, but it seems like most of the free guides that I came across were somewhat outdated. I may just end up subscribing to Beckett, but figured I'd make sure there weren't any good free guides out there before paying for something. Thanks, Allison. I have looked quite a few up on Ebay, but there are a lot that aren't on there. The library is a good idea; I'll have to call and see if they get Beckett in regularly, or something similar. Oh, I know, Sam. It sucks, but it's part of about any collectors item. I've had a few cards worth more than 400 bucks a piece, when cards were in demand. Last time I checked (about 3 years ago) they were priced at a whopping 30 or so bucks a piece. It doesn't really bother me, though. I never had any plans of selling my cards, nor will I ever have plans on doing so.
where can I find out the value of my 1990 donruss, fleer, and score baseball cards? Where can I get a current? I have some 1989-1991 baseball cards that I want to sell, but I need a up to date pricing guide for these years. The Beckett website does not house all of the cards I have in my collection. How can I obtain a pricing guide?

Thanks for your quick reply and input!! What about the "Annual" Beckett PG? I have been collecting baseball cards for over 20 years. Got into NASCAR collectibles about 10-12 years ago. My bedroom wall is hanging full of 1:64 scale diecast cars. I have alot of Earnhardt Sr. and JR. cars. The top of our TV in our living room is covered with 1:24 scale cars and I also have some Maxx Racing card sets on it. 2 1990 sets and one 1992 set. I have also put together several sets of my own. I bought an autographed Benny Parsons 1991 Legend card today for practically nothing. I know Beckett makes an "Annual" price guide. Is this guide only made once a year? I'm thinking of ordering the OPG just to look up my racing cards and diecast cars. Is it worth it? I have Jeff Gordons 1992 BGN RC in the Maxx Black Update set along with his 1992 ROY card in Maxx. I also have his 1993 Wheels Rookie Thunder card. The latest PG I have is Jan. of '05 They do not book much in there. The only way I can get any info on there value is by going to Becketts OPG and see what they r selling for. Anyone have any input about the stuff I mentioned? Thx alot..P.S.-I am looking for a 1996 Fleer Ultra Update #10 Dale Earnhardt card. I need it to finish the set..ChasingFever..
Looking for free online price guides? I'm trying to sell a bunch of baseball, football, basketball, hockey, racing, star`trek, and pokemon cards...I've looked for price guides all over, but the only ones I find are Beckett, which isn't free...then sportslizard, but that only lets me search three times a day, and tuffstuff.com which either doesn't list everything or is extremely inaccurate. Anybody know of other sites?
a question about buying, selling, collecting baseball & football cards.? I have a collection of baseball and football cards. I'm looking for info like: 1. what % of book value could I expect to get from a collector? 2. from someone wanting to re-sell? 3. Any good price guides online that give you the same data as, say, Beckett? The collection I have is mainly Atlanta Brave and Dallas Cowboy cards from the 60's to the mid 90's, some fulls sets, some partial sets, single cards, misc. Since all cards, I assume, came from a pack, there is no such thing as an uncirculated card like there is with coins? So is mint the top grade? followed by excellent, very good, good, average, fair, poor, and then maybe trash?
How much is this Matt Stairs card worth? It's a 2006 Topps regular issue Matt Stairs. I know everyone comes in here asking about prices of cards because we all know baseball cards are worth a lot of money, so how much is this one worth? I'm hoping it's six figures because I want to buy a house. I could just look it up in this Beckett Guide right here on my desk but I'd rather come in here and waste everyone's time in hopes someone will offer me a million dollars! So can someone tell me how much this very valuable card is worth? Thank you so much and you can call me Mr. Moneybags (after I sell this wonderful card - BTW, it's got a crease down the middle and chewed corner). PS: Has there ever been a more pointless and worthless answer then "whatever someone is willing to pay for it." I sincerely hope you nimrods who use this answer can stop it. It's quite possibly the dumbest answer I've seen in Yahoo Answers. Thanks Buddies!!!
My son and I have several sports cards (at least a couple thousand).? Most of the cards are baseball, but I have a few basketball and football. Most are dated in the 80's and 90's, none older and a few around 2000 & 2001. I've tried to find info/price guides on-line (i.e. Beckett, e-bay etc.), but none seem to be efficient and complete. Any suggestions?
Looking to unload several thousand collectible cards...How can I get the most money out of them? Most are sports cards (baseball, football, basketball), and the rest are miscellaneous movie/tv show collectible cards (star trek, star wars, x-files, lotr). Most of them are 20 years old or more. All are in really good shape (and no, none of them are still in their original packaging, or boxes. and yes, I do know I lost some value in opening them. But hey, I was a kid...had to know what I got!). Unless the industry has changed drastically in the last 20 years, the one method of selling them to insure that I would NOT get the most out of them would be taking them to a collectible card store. Of course there is Ebay, but I've not used Ebay before, and I've heard that people that use Ebay a lot get a 'trusted seller ribbon', or something like that, and that they can get a higher price on their items over someone that doesn't have that rating. That leaves craigslist, of which I know little, but get the impression of a sticky movie theater floor, and feel the need to shower afterwords...(smile, Craig, I was just kidding around...) Another question is would it be better to try and move them all at once as a bulk sale, or could I get more money out of them by breaking them up into their individual categories, and use multiple methods of selling to target the markets and buyers that would be interested in purchasing them (sport cards to sports fanatics, star trek cards to trekkies, or trekkers, if you prefer, X-Files to nerds and aliens, etc.). If I should have some that are far and above common status (say, Shaq rookie cards), should I attempt to sell them as singles, or throw them in with the rest of that particular sport to increase the overall value? Are there alternatives online besides ebay and craigslist? My plan is to inventory them over the next couple of weeks, then use Beckett's guides (or similar sources) to price them all out, so I have a ballpark figure to work with. Is any of this reported to the IRS? I know that sales of any size should be reported, just wondering if any of the online resources actually report anything to the IRS, or if I would get a form in January similar to the one I get for interest earned. Cool! Looking forward to your responses....have a great evening!
How much are these cards worth? I realize I could just use this Beckett Guide right by my desk, but that would require me actually doing a little research and I'd rather just have someone else to go all the trouble to do the work for me. So how much are these: * 1924 Topps Babe Ruth * 1955 Upper Deck Ted Williams * 1890 Donruss Fleet Walker (in action) * Autographed ball by the 1913 Chicago Whales team (the ball is an official Bowie Kuhn baseball) * The Life and Times of Lou Gehrig, 1993 printing, signed by Lou Gehrig. * 1989 Score Alex Rodridguez * 2004 David Delucci I'm hoping to sell all these and buy a house so please get those prices to me ASAP. So far, as predicted, two of the most worthless answers imaginable.
Please, please help me: How much are these cards worth? And don't tell me "they're worth a lot" or "whatever someone is willing to pay." Exactly how does that help me? I need specific monetary values. Oh, and could someone tell me where a 14 year old can make money online. Thanks. I love it when people don't read the actual post and quickly spew out a response...
